Angelica Panganiban did not mind being a second choice
Kapamilya actress Angelica Panganiban shared that she is happy even though she is just a second choice in Banana Split.
The said gag show initially was aired on Saturday night with a daring theme. It also featured Valerie Concepcion, Cristine Reyes, and Roxanne Guinoo with RR Enriquez, Princess Ryan, and Dianne Medina as supporting cast.
Time went by and the female casts also exited the show while Angelica remained until it went through a transition. When the gag show was aired on Sunday, it became Banana Sundae and featured new cast members but Angelica became the show’s mainstay.
The actress, amid the ABS-CBN franchise issue, bid goodbye to her fellow cast members. Her emotional post on Instagram caught the attention of her fellow celebrities as well as the avid fans of the gag show.
Despite the fact that Angelica Panganiban is the only pioneer who remained with the current cast, it was revealed that she was just a second choice.
Based on the article from PEP, the actress shared this during the show’s anniversary special last 2012. “Noong umpisa talaga, hindi ako part ng cast. Happy ako na the night before the launching niya, pictorial and everything, tinawagan lang ako nang biglaan kung puwede nga ako mag-pictorial for a comedy show,” she said.
The actress added that when she got the call, she did not hesitate because her last gag show before that was Ang TV when she was one of the popular child stars at that time.
“So sabi ko, yes na yes. Maharot akong bata, gustung-gusto kong nagpapasaya. Sobra akong masaya na ako iyong huling choice, second option lang ako, pero hanggang ngayon, nandito pa rin ako,” she said, based on the article.
