Baguio City’s bet Roxanne Allison Baeyens is the newly-crowned Miss Philippines Earth 2020 succeeding the winner of last year Janelle Lazo Tee from Pasig City. Sunday morning, July 5, the virtual coronation was held and got aired in GMA 7.

Baeyens of Baguio bested out of 33 aspirants nationwide. She is 23 years old and a Tourism Management graduate. She topped the “Covid Craze” fashion competition and placed third in the Beach Wear competition. She also landed on the top spot of poll bagging “Darling of the Press” title and declared as this year pageant’s “Best in Eco Video” award.

She is not new on the field of pageantry. She placed first runner-up in Culture Universe 2019 and participated in Miss Tourism. Baeyens also tried her luck in Miss Mandaluyong 2019 and landed on the 4th spot. Her advocacy is urban gardening inspired by her mother who is an environmentalist. She cited of seeing no greens anymore in the city which is why she pushed through this advocacy.

Queens who won in this pageant for the past years are Karla Henry (2009), Jamie Herrell (2014), Angelia Ong (2015), and Karen Ibasco (2017).
