Suspected Drug Trader In Marikina City Arrested By NBI

SUSPECTED DRUG TRADER IN MARIKINA CITY – A suspected drug trader in Marikina City was arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation.

Eric Distor, Officer-In-Charge in NBI said that he identified the suspect as Philip Jacob Nocom who used namems such as Alex Benson Vergara, John Robert Bautista, and Joseph Francis Lee, according to Manila Bulletin.

Nocom was nabbed in a condominium unit on June 25 by the NBI’s International Operations Division (NBI-IOD).

Recovered from the suspect were illegal drugs worth at about P13 million, among them were two kilograms of shabu and .5 grams of cocaine.

Aside from the drugs, the NBI also confiscated the following:

  • M16 automatic rifle
  • caliber 9mm automatic pistol
  • several live ammunitions
  • several loaded M16 and pistol magazines
  • several tactical knives
  • hand held radios
  • several electronic devices

Nocom was presented before the Marikina City Prosecutor’s Office for violation of the following:

  • Section 28 of Republic Act 10591, Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act
  • Section 11 of R.A. 9165, Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002
  • Section 3 of Commonwealth Act No. 142, Regulating the Use of Alias

Based on the report, before the arrest, the security guards on the said condominium went to his unit to demand his delayed rent of two months.

After Nocom did not respond to the knocks, the guards forced the door open and found him lying on his bed nearly unconscious and weak.
