Photos Filipinos In Bangkok Waiting For Flight Back To Manila
FILIPINOS – Photos of Filipinos in Bangkok, Thailand waiting for their special flight back to Manila.
There are lots of Filipinos working in Bangkok, Thailand. Most of them work as teachers, nannies, or hotel workers. Last year, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced that the Kingdom will need more Filipino English teachers soon.
Some Filipinos that are working in Thailand have to deal with difficulties brought by the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Some of them were even left unemployed.
Last February, medical staff in Thailand confirmed positive for COVID-19. Amid the rising number of COVID-19 patients in the country, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration ordered malls and schools to be closed to curb the spread of the virus.
The country successfully contained the virus. Their aggressive action in fighting the deadly virus made them among the world’s lowest number of COVID-19 cases.
Thailand’s strict measures to contain COVID-19 also affected their economy. Some of their international and domestic flights were suspended amid the outbreak. Recently, Thailand reopened several airports including Suvarnabhumi Airport.
In the Twitter Page of DZMM Teleradyo, uploaded photos of Filipinos waiting for their special flights at an airport in Bangkok. However, it was not mentioned if the Philippine government organized the flight of returning Filipinos. Based on the caption, their ticket cost around P15,000.
“Naghihintay ang ilang Pinoy sa airport sa Bangkok para sa special flight pabalik ng Maynila. Halos P15,000 ang presyo ng ticket.”
