First COVID-19 Case In Calatrava Town, Negros Occidental

FIRST COVID-19 CASE IN CALATRAVA TOWN – The municipality of Calatrava, Negros Occidental recently recorded its first case of COVID-19.

According to the Facebook page of Brigada News San Carlos, this was confirmed by Municipal Health Officer Dr. Karl Gabriel Bonifacio, who revealed the results of the swab test.

Calatrava’s Patient No. 1 is identified as a 50 year old male from Barangay Malong and a locally stranded individual (LSI) from Lahug City ,Cebu, Bonifacio added.

Based on the timeline, Calatrava 1 arrived at Escalante Port on June 18, 2020 and was taken to Cadiz CIty for a swab test. He was then transported to a quarantine facility.

Bonifacio said that it was not difficult to perform contact tracing since the patient only interacted with the personnel in the municipality who fetched him from the port and taken him to the quarantine facility.

Based on the report, the Municipal Health Officer said that all LSIs would be taken to the quarantine facility and stay there until their swab test are released.
