Here’s Why Loren Legarda Calls Out Globe Telecom

LOREN LEGARDA – Find out why House Deputy Speaker Loren Legarda called out telecommunications company Globe Telecom.

Last month, the founder and leader of a church called “Kingdom of Jesus Christ,” Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy threatens to shutdown telecommunications operators Smart, PLDT, and Globe. He said that during his televised program.

The Davaoeño pastor said the county has the slowest and most expensive internet provider in the world. He said it should be replaced with a cheaper and faster internet service. He said, “Smart, Globe PLDT… O mga may-ari ng mga telco mahiya naman kayo. Sa buong mundo tayo ang pinaka bagal, pinaka mabagal tapos ang laki-laki pa ng singil nyo.”

On Monday, June 22, Filipino politician and former journalist Loren Legarda aired her frustration over Globe Telecom on her Twitter account. She called out the said telecommunications company after it cut her line yesterday without informing her. She said her webinar with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) got delayed.

“Globe is my internet service provider. They cut my line yesterday without due notice due to non payment during ecq. But no bill arrived! I had a webinar with denr and I was delayed due to this. How many more people are unduly and unjustly cut by their service providers?” she wrote.

Loren Legarda made a follow-up post regarding her issue with the internet provider. She said she waited for a long time before her internet got fixed. She even asked for help from the account officers of the company. She is clearly disappointed in Globe’s internet service.

“It took me a very long time to be served and had to seek help of account officers of globe. How much more other Filipinos? This kind of service must not be allowed, disruption of work must not be allowed,” Legarda said.
