Outstanding Students in Antique Receive Cash Incentives During Graduation Ceremonies
The outstanding students in the province of Antique received not only medals but also cash incentives during their graduation ceremonies.
The local government of San Remigio organized the program to recognize and reward academic excellence among young learners. Under the initiative, top-performing students from different grade levels were given financial rewards.
Grade 12 students who ranked first in their batch received P20,000, while those who placed second were awarded P10,000. For Grade 6, the top student received P5,000. These incentives were given as a way to honor their achievements and encourage them to continue striving in their studies.

The program was made possible through Ordinance No. 142, Series of 2025, which was approved by the Sangguniang Bayan. The ordinance aims to support outstanding students from elementary to senior high school across the municipality.
Funding for the incentives came from the local government unit of San Remigio, with assistance from the Local Youth Development Office.
The distribution of the incentives was personally led by local officials, including the SK Municipal Federation President and the Municipal Mayor. They attended several graduation ceremonies to hand over the rewards to the deserving students.

Schools visited during the distribution included Calag-Itan Central School, St. Vincent’s High School, and Gideon Memorial High School.
For many students, the cash incentive was more than just a reward. It served as recognition of their efforts, late nights of studying, and determination to succeed despite challenges. It also brought pride to their families, who supported them along the way.

The program emphasizes the importance of valuing education and motivating students to aim higher. By rewarding excellence, the local government hopes to inspire more young people to work hard and reach their dreams.
