Navotas Offers Free Boat to Fishermen Who Lost Livelihoods Amid Crisis
The local government of Navotas City offers free boat to the fishermen whose livelihoods were greatly affected by the coronavirus crisis.
The local government of Navotas has launched a livelihood program for their fishermen whose livelihoods have been greatly affected during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic in the city.
The livelihood program named the “NAVOBangkabuhayan”. This program offers free boats for fishermen who are qualified to the qualification standards set by the local government.

Fisherman should have these qualifications enable to be included on the list:
- Poorest of the poor, fishermen who do not own boats are also a prioritized
- Registered fishermen and registered voter in the city
- A fisherman who has 3 or more relatives relying on him and voters of the city is prioritized.
- No bad record in the community
- Fisherman should be negative on the drug test
- There is a qualified colleague who can be the co-owner of the boat
- Must be involved in the manufacture of fiberglass boats
If ever an applicant already owns a boat, it can still apply. But if the boat is damaged or in bad condition, and if the owner does not have the ability to repair it.
