Sotto said, this was part of efforts to end patronage politics in the city. Among the 100 employees regularized on Wednesday include street sweepers and engineering aides who have been hired as “contractual” all this time, Sotto said on Twitter and Facebook.

“May streetsweeper, may engineering aide… lahat sila, mahigit 20 taon nanatiling kontraktwal sa lokal na pamahalaan ng Pasig,” Sotto said in a Facebook post.

“I am happy to announce: wala nang naiwan na kontraktwal sa mga empleyado nating mahigit 20 years nang nasa serbisyo,” he added.

This started on January, Mayor Vico Sotto announced the regularization of 53 contractual employees. In February, 109 more employees were regularized as followed, bringing the total to 163 employees, who all had served for more than 20 years.
