TNVS Driver in San Rafael, Bulacan Escapes Carnappers
A transport network vehicle service – TNVS driver survived a terrifying incident after being held captive by carnappers in San Rafael, Bulacan.Ā
On Saturday (September 6., 2025), three men and one woman booked a ride through a ride-hailing app from San Fernando, Pampanga, to Baliwag, Bulacan. While passing through Marilao, they declared a carnap, took control of the vehicle, and blindfolded the driver.
According to police reports, the victim was then brought to a motel in San Rafael, where he was locked inside a room with one suspect guarding him. In a moment of courage, the driver seized the opportunity to escape when the guard used the restroom.

āDoon sa Marilao, nag-declare sila na ito ay carnap at tinake control na nila yung sasakyan at blindfold yung driver,ā Bulacan PPO chief PCol Angel Garcillano said.
Despite injuring himself, he jumped from the second floor and immediately sought help. Hotel staff quickly called the police, and follow-up operations were launched.
The suspects fled toward Manila using an Innova, but authorities moved fast. One male suspect was arrested in Baliwag, while the female suspect voluntarily surrendered at the Baliwag City Police Station. The remaining two suspects were tracked down and arrested the next morning.
Police later revealed that two of the suspects had previous records related to illegal drugs in 2021 and 2022. Authorities said the victimās decision to escape likely saved his life, as the situation could have turned deadly.
āSinabi na ng biktima na siya ay biktima ng carnap at illegal detention kaya agad tumawag ng pulis ang hotel management,ā Garcillano said.
All four suspects are now in police custody and will face charges of carnapping and serious illegal detention.
