Janine Gutierrez, Siblings Joins Mañanita-style Independence Day Protest In UP

JANINE GUTIERREZ – Kapuso actress Janine Gutierrez joined the Mañanita-style Independence Day protest in UP.

It has been days since the Senate forwarded the Anti-terror bill to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to sign it into law. Lots of people including celebrities, lawyers, and groups call on the legislators to scrap the controversial bill.

Critics said the government might abuse their power and suppress free speech. The protesters even get a boost from American superstar Taylor Swift.

Miss Universe titleholders Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray also joined the plea to junk the anti-terror bill. The beauty queens took to their social media accounts to speak against the controversial bill.

Gray’s post elicited a reaction from veteran actress Vivian Velez. She told the Filipino-Australian beauty that there is nothing to revise because it will bring progress in Mindanao.

Anti-terror bill protesters rally over the Anti-terror bill on Independence Day. Some of them defy the bad weather and quarantine. Kapuso actress Janine Gutierrez was among the demonstrators who took to the streets on Independence Day.

The 30-year-old actress and her sibling joined the Mañanita styled-protest at the University of the Philippines (UP) yesterday. She uploaded a photo of her with her sisters, Max and Jessica, on her Instagram account.

In the caption of the post, she wrote: “Happy mañanita, Philippines 🇵🇭 We love you so much it hurts. #junkterrorbill”

It can be recalled that Metro Manila police chief Gen. Debold Sinas allegedly violated the quarantine rules when he and his fellow cops celebrated his 55th birthday. President Rodrigo Duterte defended him following the controversy.
