#RP612fic becomes one of the most trending topics on Twitter on Friday (June 12) during the Philippine Independence day 2020.
RP612fic is a story telling event held every June 12 of every year in celebration of the Philippine Independence Day. Filipino people are posting tweet-length flash fiction on the social media platform “Twitter”.
The Filipino Alternative Mythology writer Paolo Chikiamco started the movement. The word RP from the code means “Republic of the Philippines” while 612 refers to the date (June 12) and fic means fiction.
Every year, the numbers of people joining the movement continues to grow and began to earn the attention of the mainstream media. It becomes the top trending topic on Twitter all over the world last 2014.
The movement accepts fiction stories from Filipino writers, artists, netizens, and other people who want to join and contribute to the history telling event.
