On Wednesday (June 10, 2020), the demise of the oldest active Pinay actress Anita Linda has saddened a lot of netizens after hearing the bad news. Director Adolf Alix confirmed the death of the elderly celebrity on his Instagram account.

However, Director Adolf Alix did not reveal Linda’s cause of death. He also expressed his condolences for the family and children of the veteran actress. The legacy of the late celebrity would remain in the Philippine history.

BIOGRAPHY

Alice Buenaflor Lake or known as Anita Linda is a Filipina actress who rose to popularity for playing maternal or elderly roles. She is the daughter of American soldier James Lake and Iloilo resident Gorgonia Buenaflor.

• Children – Francesca Lake-Legaspi and Fred Cortes Jr.

FACTS

Linda made her debut ii movies with Tiya Juana in 1943.

Premiere Productions offered her a contract and joined the cast of “Sekretang Hong Kong with Pugo and Togo”. Anita get her first lead role in 1947 in Alyas Sakim with Pol Salcedo, which was directed by Moises Cagin.

She started to play maternal roles in various Filipino movies and programs in 1970s.
