Boracay Restaurants Now Allow Tourists to Dine-in But Must Bring Personal Utensils
MALAY, AKLAN – Boracay resorts and restaurants now allow tourists for dine-in, however, you must bring personal utensils when eating.
Since the island is under the modified general community quarantine (MGCQ), the local government of Malay, Aklan will now allow Boracay tourists to dine in open restaurants. Dining can be fine at the restaurant but diners should bring their own utensils.
In conjunction with Boracay’s opening next week, the local government had issued a five-page executive order containing policies to comply with health protocols to further prevent COVID-19, based on the report of GMA News.
Tourists who have previously booked in accredited hotels and resorts will only be allowed to enter Boracay. Four beach areas will be open and bath time will only be allowed in 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.
However, social distancing on the beach is still strictly enforced. Renting of swimming equipment such as snorkeling masks and diving gear are still not available for tourist.
The diners at the restaurant have to bring their own utensils, they should also clean their area after eating. Establishments that want to open must first contact the Department of Tourism Region VI for permission.
