State Senator Pepper Sprayed By Police At Barclay Center Protest

SENATOR PEPPER SPRAYED BY POLICE – Following the death of George Floyd, several protest have erupted within the United States.

People have banded together in protest of the death of Floyd who was mercilessly killed by a policeman. Floyd was unarmed and cooperative and desperately pleaded with the police that he couldn’t breathe.

However, even with video evidence of the crime, there was still no action against the officer. Thus, people came in protest of the injustice.

Among these people was State Senator Zellnor Myrie (D-Brooklyn). He joined fellow residents during a protest at Barclay Center following the death of George Floyd.

Senator Pepper Sprayed By Police, Handcuffed During Protest

According to a report from Bronx News, the Senator had told the police of his identity. But, the police didn’t believe him. Instead, he was pepper sprayed in the face and handcuffed by the authorities.

Following the incident, the Senator posted pictures of him being handcuffed by police after being sprayed.

Myrie stated that the people came in solidarity to keep the peace. However, the police have yet again decided to use force instead.

Our people that look like me have been the subject of that brutality so this is while we lift up George Floyd’s life. This isn’t just about him. This isn’t just about Eric Garner. This isn’t just about… what our community has to bare. We just have cameras now

The Senator also stated that police brutality was embedded in the DNA of the United States. Moreover, he emphasized that the roots of brutality go back decades past.

Following the protest, Floyd’s killer had now been charged with murder.
