Poor Family Lives Inside Public Jeepney for 3 Years and Pandemic Makes Their Life Harder
A poor family is living inside of a public jeepney for already three years due to poverty and the coronavirus pandemic makes their life harder.
Recently, the Twitter page of “DZMM TeleRadyo” has shared the video footage of a poor family living inside their jeepney for already three years. The video is currently circulating on social media.
In the video, it can be seen that the family members are resting inside the jeepney, which was also used for their livelihood. The Manresa family in Quezon City has six members and the pandemic makes their situation more difficult.
Marlon Manresa, the head of the family explained that his income is not enough to rent a house and it is just enough for the daily expenses of his wife and children. He also said that he is earning a small amount of cash due to lessened number of passengers during the quarantine period.
Marlon is only one of the thousands of jeepney drivers whose livelihoods have been affected by the coronavirus-related lockdown. He is currently seeking help from the kind-hearted netizens who can extend their helping hand.
The jeepney driver also said that he will use the money to buy food and medicine for his mother who has hypertension.
