Lakam Chiu is still hoping that the conflict with Kim Chiu will be resolved
Lakam Chiu released a statement on the qualified theft case filed against her by her sister, Kapamilya actress-host Kim Chiu.
Kim and Lakam had a tight bond until an issue occurred between them. Last year, the actress shocked the showbiz industry and the online community when she filed a case against her older sister.
Reportedly, Kim confronted Lakam after noticing major discrepancies in June 2025 in her handbag and fashion business, House of Little Bunny Philippines Inc. They co-founded the company.
The actress stated that filing a case against her sister was a painful personal decision, but she had to do what was right. Reports also surfaced that Lakam was allegedly linked to casino gambling and personal debts. However, her camp denied this.
Just recently, it was reported that Lakam is facing 124 counts of qualified theft. She is being accused of the misuse of P44.4 million in corporate funds of HOLB.
Based on the report from The Philippine Star, Lakam Chiu, through her legal counsel, Atty. Dominic Solis, released a statement as a reaction to Kim Chiu’s decision to proceed with the legal battle against her.
Lakam said she was saddened by what her younger sister did, but she remains hopeful that whatever conflict occurred will eventually be addressed.
“Our client is saddened by her sister’s decision to pursue the case but remains hopeful that the matter can still be resolved amicably within the family. She will address the charges through the proper legal process,” Lakam’s lawyer said.
Lakam’s camp reiterated her innocence on the allegation that she stole money from the company. As of this writing, Kim Chiu has yet to release a statement on her older sister’s response to the case.
Meanwhile, amid the legal battle between the Chiu sisters, Kim launched new designs for her bag business. Many of her fans showed support for her and her personal business.
