Coronavirus: Couples Riding The Same Motorcycle Not Allowed – Remulla

Request to allow couples ride the same motorcycle amid eased coronavirus lockown measure has been denied as per Remulla.

CORONAVIRUS – Cavite Gov. Jonvic Remulla said that his appeal to allow couples to ride in a single motorcycle has been denied.

After a couple of months being in strict lockdown in order to contain the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the government has started to ease down lockdown measures in the country. And Cavite Gov. Jonvic Remulla, in his request to allow backride in a motorcycle for couples, he got denied accordingly.

He was informed that his request has been denied but he has not yet received an official response regarding this. He appealed this to Health Secretary Francisco Duque III and to the Inter-Agency Task Force of the government’s COVID-19 response.

He did this despite social distancing protocols. He just found “no logic” in not allowing couples ride the same motorcycle when in their house, they share the same bed, table, bowl of rice, and among other things. For him, couple riding the same motorcycle has zero risk of being infected as per ABS-CBN report.

In Philippines, as of May 25 update from the Department of Health (DOH), 284 new cases has been recorded bringing a total of 14,319 coronavirus cases. 873 have died and 3,323 have recovered.

The entire country is still under community quarantine but were classified. Areas, provinces, and towns were classified by the government by these three types: Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ), General Community Quarantine (GCQ), and Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ).

Just recently, with the number of cases in the country still increasing. President Duterte expressed disagreement over opening of classes on August 24. For him, classes must resume if a vaccine for treatment is already out.
