About 610 Protocol Violators Arrested In Bacolod City

BACOLOD CITY – About 610 people in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental were arrested by the local police for violating health protocols.

According to SunStar, BCPO spokesperson Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico reported that the said violators were nabbed by the personnel of Police Stations 1 to 10 in collaboration with the Mobile Patrol Group (MPG) and the local city Mobile Force Company (BCMFC).

Among the protocols they violated include the mandatory wearing of face mask and observation of physical distancing.

Among the violators were those who were 307 who were nabbed in various barangays on May 22 and 303 more who were nabbed on May 23.

As per the report, they will be charged for violating Article 151 of Revised Penal Code for disobedience to person on authority. This is also in lieu with to Executive Order No. 35.

“Hopefully, this will serve as lesson to the erring Bacolodnons. Let’s cooperate to stop the spread of the virus. Always wear the mask in the public places and observe the physical distancing,”

BCPO director Colonel Henry Binas said earlier that he ordered all station commanders to apprehend and file charges against protocol violators in the city.
