DOH Releases Update on COVID-19 Cases Recorded in the Philippines
DOH – The Department of Health revealed the total cases of COVID-19 recorded in the Philippines as of today, May 25.
A lot of countries are greatly affected by the coronavirus or COVID-19 pandemic. One of it is the Philippines wherein community quarantine measures are implemented now.
Previously, the entire Luzon and most areas in Visayas and Mindanao are under an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). The movements of the people are limited to curb the spread of the disease.
The said disease is characterized by flu-like symptoms but a person may be positive for the virus even without showing any sign at all. It may rapidly infect a huge number of people in crowded areas thus social gatherings are prohibited.
The fight against COVID-19 in the Philippines is not yet over. That is why community quarantine measures are still up until now. Every day, there is still an increase on the total cases of coronavirus recorded in the country.
As of today, May 25, there is now a total of 14,319 coronavirus cases recorded in the Philippines after the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed 284 new cases of the disease.
There are five (5) additional deaths due to COVID-19 bringing the death toll to 873. On the positive side, the health department reported 74 new recoveries from coronavirus bringing the total to 3,323 now.
Currently, the entire Philippines is still on community quarantine. Metro Manila, Cebu, and Laguna are among those that are under a Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ). Most areas in the country are under a General Community Quarantine (GCQ) now.
