Mexico Coronavirus: Country Records 2,973 Cases In Single Day

Here’s an update about Mexico coronavirus situation.

MEXICO CORONAVIRUS – Health authorities of Mexico has recorded 2,973 more confirmed coronavirus cases in a single day on Thursday.

In a previous report, as of May 21, 2020, the world surpassed the 5 million-mark of coronavirus confirmed cases – specifically at 5,079,583. The global death toll is at 329,163. United States has the most number of coronavirus cases at 1,590,942 cases followed by Russia and Brazil in 2nd and 3rd places, respectively.

And in the Philippines, 13,434 have been recorded as of May 21, 3,000 of total recoveries, and 846 lives have been taken. As much as we are all aware of, everyone is at risk to have the virus but at higher chance of getting infected are children, the old people, and those with underlying medical conditions like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer.

Now, in Mexico, as reported on Thursday, the heath authorities of the country has reported 2,973 more coronavirus cases in just a day bringing them their total confirmed cases to be at 59,567 cases. They also have 6,510 coronavirus deaths as per Reuters. Mexico has a total tally of 40,657 recoveries. According to LA Times, the country’s death may be three times higher than their official count.

There is yet no medicine or vaccine created to cure this disease but there are ways to protect yourself and others from getting infected of the COVID-19:

  • frequent, proper, and thorough hand washing
  • avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with your hands
  • cover mouth when coughing
  • physical distancing
  • wearing mask
  • avoid going to crowded places

There have been studies which shown, as per World Health Organization (WHO), that the COVID-19 virus can survive in plastic and stainless steel surfaces for up to 72 hours, less than 4 hours in copper, and less than 24 hours in cardboard.
