Jinggoy Estrada Personally Files Explanation Letter On Alleged Violations
JINGGOY ESTRADA EXPLANATION – Former Senator Jinggoy Estrada filed a letter regarding explanations on his alleged breach of protocols.
Recently, the former Senator was arrested for an alleged violation of quarantine protocols. However, he was quickly released after his arrest.
Wala po akong perang ibinibigay. Sinasabi niya mayroon akong perang ipinamimigay. Assuming, assuming totoo ang sinasabi niya, I think there’s nothing wrong [with that]. People are hungry, people have no work. He should understand that.–
Estrada was arrested by authorities because he allegedly gathered a large crowd, which caused violations of social distancing. Moreover, he was detained for not coordinating with LGUs and for lack of a permit to do relief operations.
According to a report from One News PH, Estrada had personally filed a letter of explanation about how he did not breach any quarantine protocols.
Along with the letter, he also had a screenshot of a video of the relief operation drive in San Juan City which showed that social distancing measures were imposed.
In his letter he stated:
As a former enforcer and a lawmaker, I believe that our laws should be titlted towards helping our poor people as their welfare, after all, should be the the Supreme Law.
He explained that on May 3, 2020, he had an extra supply of milkfish from Zambales, his mother’s birthplace. Because of this, he decided to distribute it to those in need.
Moreover, he empasized that during the distribution, he was wearing his mask and had a quarantine pass. Additionally, he said he was wearing his PPE suit and face shield during the distributions.
