Update on Philippine Coronavirus Cases As of Today (May 18, 2020)

PHILIPPINE CORONAVIRUS CASES – The total cases of coronavirus or COVID-19 in the Philippines rose by 205 today, May 18, 2020.

Undeniably, the coronavirus or COVID-19 has made large impacts not only in China where it was first recorded but in the whole world. Currently, more than 210 countries and territories are battling against it.

The said coronavirus can spread fast most especially in the crowd. An infected person may exhibit flu-like symptoms like fever, breathing difficulties, and cough.

However, not only those persons may be infected with COVID-19. A person can look healthy and feel nothing at all but still be positive for the said coronavirus. It is called the asymptomatic case.

Philippine Coronavirus Cases

In the Philippines which has recorded cases of COVID-19, community quarantines are up until now. Metro Manila, Laguna, and Cebu City are under a Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ).

The entire country except for those aforementioned places are under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ). Everyone is reminded to stay at home if not for essential purposes like work or the buying of food.

Also, it is now a protocol to wear mask whenever you are outdoors. Social distancing must be observed at all times as well as part of fighting the spread of coronavirus.

Daily, the Department of Health releases an update on the COVID-19 cases in the Philippines. According to DOH, the Philippine coronavirus cases rose by 205 today bringing the total to 12,718.

The health department has recorded 7 new deaths due to COVID-19 today. The death toll is at 831 now. With regards to the recoveries, 94 new recoveries were recorded bringing the total to 2,729.
