ABS-CBN Statement over Provisional Permit to Operate until October 2020

Here’s the ABS-CBN statement after they were given until October 2020 to operate again.

ABS-CBN STATEMENT – The shut down ABS-CBN network releases statement after their provisional permit to operate finally got approved.

Last May 5, Philippines’ top broadcaster, ABS-CBN, went off air which broke hearts of its celebrities and millions of viewers. This is following the cease and desist order released by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) for their 25-year legislative franchise has already expired.

And now, on Wednesday nigh, May 13, eight days after being off the air, they happily announced that the House of Representatives Committee of the Whole approved House Bill No. 6732 granted them the provisional permit to operate until October 2020.

House Bill No. 6732 or “An Act Granting the ABS-CBN Corporation A Franchise to Construct, Install, Operate and Maintain Radio and Television Broadcasting Stations in the Philippines, and For Other Purposes” was filed by Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano and several other lawmakers.

With this, ABS-CBN responded and expressed in a statement their gratitude to the leaders of the House of Representatives and sponsors of the bill led by Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano and Majority Leader Martin Romualdez. The network thanked them for understanding and their recognition to their crucial role amid this public health crisis.

The statement added, “We look forward to participating in the process of our franchise renewal and stand ready to response to the issues that have been raised against the network, its owners, management, and employees.”

Also, they are most grateful to people who love and support them as it inspire them.
