Constructions, Infrastructure Projects Can Now Resume Under ECQ Areas

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said Saturday, private and public constructions and infrastructure projects can resume in areas under ECQ.

In a report of ABS-CBN News, Roque said constructions such as quarantine and isolation facilities for persons under monitoring (PUMs), suspected or under investigation, and confirmed coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patients.

Facilities for construction personnel who perform emergency works, flood control, and other disaster risk reduction and rehabilitation programs, sewerage projects, water service facility projects, and digital works as among those allowed under the amendment.

“Iyong mga construction para sa quarantine and isolation facilities para sa persons under monitoring, suspect and confirmed COVID-19 patients. Facilities for construction personnel who perform emergency works, flood control & other disaster risk reduction and rehab programs,” Sec. Roque said.

“Sewerage projects, water service facility projects, digital works. Iyong priority public infrastructure projects,” he added.

Roque stresses private infrastructure projects defined as those that refer to food production, agriculture, fishery, energy, housing, communication, water facilities, manufacturing & business process outsourcing are also allowed in accordance issued by the guidelines of DPWH.

He added, construction workers who are accredited by the Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) can return to work, can even go to their places where they work.

In addition, all private and public construction projects in the areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) were also permitted to operate. However, they need to comply to the construction safety guidelines.
