BB Gandanghari Is Ready to Return w/ Bigger Plans Behind the Camera
BB GANDANGHARI – The spotlight may soon shine on BB Gandanghari once again as the actor-director prepares to return to the Philippines with fresh ideas, new projects, and bigger creative goals.
BB Gandanghari is preparing for a new chapter in the Philippine entertainment industry, expressing excitement about returning to local showbiz after spending several years living in the United States. While many may see it as a comeback, the actor-director made it clear that the goal extends beyond simply appearing in front of the camera again.
BB is also looking forward to directing, producing, and developing original film and television projects. During Tuesday’s episode of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, BB was asked whether returning to the Philippines for television and film projects is still part of the long-term plan.
The actor-director answered with enthusiasm, sharing a desire to once again collaborate with the country’s creative talents and respected filmmakers.
“Oh yeah, I’m more than willing. Of course, siyempre hindi naman lahat pwede mong gawin on your own. I’m still looking forward to working with the directors; we have really good directors now.”
Aside from acting, BB also expressed admiration for the quality of productions currently being created by GMA Network. The actor-director shared hopes of becoming part of the network’s growing lineup of successful television dramas and films.
“I wanna be a part of that.”
When asked about the kind of roles that would be appealing upon returning to acting, BB revealed an interest in portraying a lead antagonist or a bida-kontrabida character, a role that offers both complexity and excitement.
However, acting is only one aspect of BB’s bigger vision. Last year, the actor-director graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Entertainment Business from the Los Angeles Film School in California. The achievement reflects BB’s commitment to expanding creative skills and building a lasting career behind the scenes as well.
Discussing future ambitions, BB explained that filmmaking has become an equally important passion.
“I wanna direct also. I wanna be a filmmaker, but in the end, I wanna be that filmmaker who produces, who directs, acts, you know?”
Over the past few years, BB has already developed several original concepts for film and television. One of these projects is now being discussed with a producer, although securing funding remains the final step before production can begin.
BB also shared that each concept has a different creative direction depending on the story.
“Meron akong mga konsepto na mainly, just an actor, and then meron akong konsepto mainly as a director, at meron din akong konsepto as a producer, and also I’m acting in it. Depende du’n sa istoryang naiisip ko.”
With renewed enthusiasm, academic preparation, and original projects already taking shape, BB Gandanghari appears ready to embrace a fresh phase in Philippine entertainment. Beyond making a return as an actor, BB hopes to contribute as a filmmaker, producer, and storyteller while pursuing the opportunity to collaborate once again with GMA Network on future productions.
