Nail Salons Source Of Coronavirus Spread In California Says Gov.

NAIL SALONS SOURCE OF CORONAVIRUS – The United States has now become the hardest coronavirus-hit country in the world.

Experts attributed this to the Government’s lack of response to the viral threat. Moreover, mobs of Americans rallied against the imposed lockdowns.

As such, non-essential businesses were reopened despite the strict quarantine protocols. Because of this, California Gov. Gavin Newsom said a nail salon started the community spread of COVID-19 in California.

However, in some states, small businesses such as nail salons are being allowed to reopen. In lieu of this, Gov. Newsom reminded how the community spread of COVID-19 began in a nail salon in California.

Likewise, State Health directors have put up red flags on nail salons. Moreover, they dubbed them as a “high-risk” business. This was due to nail salon’s “up-close” nature.

Meanwhile, Newsom also stated that low-risk businesses such as bookstores and warehouses are starting to be allowed to reopen. But, despite the warnings from health experts, a nail salon owner was shocked by the governor’s remarks.

The owner of Saunders and James Nail Care in Oakland California, Michelle Saunders said she hasn’t heard anything from health officials.

Had they known that this was the situation, absolutely zero information was ever sent to any nail care people in the industry at all

She added that her salon follows the same rules that a nurse would. This included protective gear such as masks and gloves.

I am just intuitively kind of following the rules of what a nurse would wear or a physician, or something that is more in the medical field.

According to a report from CNBC, Saunders James said she has 12 people under her employ. Furthermore, her business opened in January but was forced to close in mid-March due to the coronavirus.

Currently, COVID-19 has infected over 60,600 people in California. Additionally, the virus has caused at least 2,460 fatalities based on data from Johns Hopkins University.
