This was a statement by Western Visayas regional police director Brigadier Gen. Rene Pamuspusan, who said that the captain, identified as Maria Luz Ferrer will be filed against for graft and corruption, according to a report from Manila Bulletin.

Furthermore, an officer of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD), identified as Mae Fajardo will also be charged for falsifying the SAP documents in favor of Ferrer.

“This should serve as a stern warning to all those who would dare to engage in anomalies involving the funds intended to the poor. In this time of pandemic, corruption has no place in Western Visayas,”

Pamuspusan said that the probe began after they received complaints from concerned citizens about the anomalies involving the captain and the MSWD officer.

Concerned citizens added that Ferrer included her 13-year-old grandchild and her relative in the list of SAP beneficiaries.

“The complainant also alleged that the barangay executive has bias in selecting the beneficiaries in his locality,”

The police discovered the anomalies in SAP distribution and gathered credible witness to corner both suspects.

As per the report, the probe ended in charging two locals, identified as Wizza Leal and Emmanuel Orsolon, for falsifying entries in the SAP form.

President Rodrigo Duterte earlier expressed his anger over the corruption in SAP distribution, noting an instance in Bulacan where a barangay councilor wanted half of the cash from his constituent.
