Brgy. Bagong Silang SAP Beneficiaries Breaks Social Distancing Rules
SAP BENEFICIARIES – The Social Amelioration Program (SAP) beneficiaries in Brgy. Bagong Silang in Caloocan City broke social distancing rules.
The Philippine government released billion to fund its 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) response. They also allotted a huge amount of money to provide the needs of low-income families.
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte ordered the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to lead the distribution of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP). However, the agency had some trouble in distributing cash assistance to the people.
Several photos of SAP beneficiaries breaking the social distancing rules emerged on social media. The viral photos elicited reactions from the online community.
In a previous article, the process of distribution of the cash aid in Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City was slammed by netizens. The officials asked the SAP beneficiaries to fall in line to receive their cash aid from the government.
Another photo of SAP beneficiaries who violated the social distancing rules went viral on social media. The photos were shared on Manila Bulletin News’ Twitter account.
Based on the caption, the beneficiaries were residents of Barangay Bagong Silang in Caloocan City. They arrive at the payout venue as early as 2 am.
According to the report, the residents failed to follow the social distancing rules imposed by the World Health Organization (WHO) to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Watch the photos below:
