JUST IN: DOH COVID-19 Cases Record Exceeds 10,000 Now

DOH COVID-19 Update for Today – May 6,2020

DOH – The Department of Health released an update on COVID-19 or coronavirus in the Philippines today, May 6, 2020.

Currently, several areas in the Philippines are still under an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). It is due to the outbreak of coronavirus in the country.

As per the recommendation of the National Inter-Agency Task Force against COVID-19 which was accepted by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, the ECQ in high-risk areas is extended until May 15.

With regards to the areas considered as low and medium risk, the measure is downgraded to General Community Quarantine (GCQ). It will be until May 15 as well depending on the assessment of the situation.

DOH Update Coronavirus Philippines

Every day, the Department of Health releases an update about the COVID-19 cases in the Philippines. For today, May 6, 2020, the DOH reported 320 new cases of coronavirus in the country bringing the total to 10,004.

Unfortunately, 21 new deaths were recorded. The death toll is now at 658. According to the health department, on the positive side, 98 new recoveries were recorded bringing the total to 1,506.

The fight against the spread of coronavirus is ongoing. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it is going to be a long-term battle against the said disease.
