Update on the Quezon City Coronavirus Cases Amid Pandemic’s Outbreak in PH

QUEZON CITY CORONAVIRUS CASES – The total cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Quezon City, Philippines is over 1,300 now.

One of the over 200 countries affected greatly by the 2019 coronavirus is the Philippines. Officially called as COVID-19, this pandemic has placed a lot of areas in the country under an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) for more than a month.

The ECQ is one of the measures implemented to prevent the spread of the disease. The people’s outdoor movements are limited and everyone is encouraged to exhibit social distancing when they are out for very essential purposes.

It was just starting this May 1 when some areas in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao were downgraded from ECQ to General Community Quarantine or GCQ. Under the new measure, some businesses may be back on operation.

In line with the outbreak of COVID-19 in the Philippines, there are high-risk areas and the ECQ in the said areas are extended until May 15. It is per the recommendation of the National Inter-Agency Task Force against COVID-19 which President Rodrigo Roa Duterte approved.

One of the areas in the Philippines with a huge number of COVID-19 cases is Quezon. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the total Quezon City coronavirus cases is 1,339 now after 43 new cases were recorded yesterday.

With regards to the death toll, three (3) new deaths were recorded bringing the total to 132 now. Based on the report, out of the 1,339 Quezon City coronavirus cases, 264 patients have recovered from the disease.

Out of the total cases of COVID-19 in QC, the city’s Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit and the district health offices have validated 1,054 cases. Currently, 34 barangays in the city are under an “Extreme Enhanced Community Quarantine”.
