Hospital Disinfection To Be Done After 4 Malabon Hospital Staff Contracted COVID-19

MALABON HOSPITAL STAFF – Four (4) healthcare workers in Malabon Hospital were infected with coronavirus or COVID-19.

Several areas in the Philippines got confirmed cases of coronavirus or COVID-19. According to the Department of Health (DOH), there is now a total of 7,958 cases of the disease confirmed in the country.

Amid the fight against COVID-19 not only in PH but as well as in several other countries now, hospitals are among the riskiest places. The doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers and providers are on the front line in this fight.

Sadly, more than 1,000 healthcare workers were infected by coronavirus as they fulfilled their duties. Several doctors and nurses died due to the said disease.

Recently, four (4) Malabon Hospital staff were infected by COVID-19 as the hospital treats coronavirus patients. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Mayor Antoline Oreta confirmed that a disinfection would be done on the health facility.

Temporarily, the hospital will stop accepting non-coronavirus patients. It is also for the safety of these patients. It will begin today, April 30, 2020.

Based on the report, aside from disinfection following four (4) Malabon Hospital staff contracting COVID-19, contact tracing will be done and those symptomatic people they had a contact with will be placed in isolation areas.

Several parts of the hospital will continue their operation. It includes the emergency room, the laboratory, and the radiology section for the out-patients. The amphitheater will also continue operation to attend to patients suspected of COVID-19.

Reportedly, there is now a total of 51 cases of coronavirus recorded in the city. Twelve (12) of the patients have recovered while nine (9) expired.
