Thai Influencer Passes Away After During Whiskey Challenge
A 21-year-old influencer passed away after drinking a bottle of whiskey during a whiskey challenge.
Alcohol poisoning happens when someone drinks too much alcohol in a short period, overwhelming the body’s ability to handle it. It leads to a dangerous buildup of alcohol in the blood, affecting vital organs like the brain, heart, and lungs.
It’s a serious condition that needs immediate medical attention to prevent life-threatening complications. Some common signs of alcohol poisoning include confusion, vomiting, and difficulty staying awake.

Preventing alcohol poisoning is simple, drink responsibly. Avoid binge drinking and stay away from drinking contests or dares that encourage excessive consumption.
Recently, a young influencer from Thailand known as “Bank Leicester” has died after completing a whiskey challenge. The incident raised concerns online and elicited various reactions from the netizens.
Kanthee took on the challenge to consume the entire bottle for 30,000 Thai baht (around P52,000). The dare was recorded at a party where attendees encouraged him. Shortly after drinking, he fell ill, reportedly vomiting and losing consciousness.

The Thai influencer was taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead in the early hours of December 26, 2024. The incident emphasizes the dangers of alcohol poisoning, which occurs when excessive alcohol intake overwhelms the body.
Whiskey, with an alcohol content of 36%-50%, can be lethal when consumed in large amounts. Stronger alcoholic drinks, such as whiskey and tequila, carry higher risks compared to beer or wine due to their elevated alcohol percentages.

Kanthee’s untimely death reminds us to avoid risky behaviors involving alcohol and to promote responsible drinking to prevent such incidents in the future.
