Man in Negros Occidental Tested Positive for COVID-19

NEGROS OCCIDENTAL – The Provincial Government confirmed a new positive case for COVID-19 in the province.

One of the provinces in Visayas that implemented the Enhanced Community Quarantine or ECQ over the COVID-19 is the Negros Occidental province. It is headed by Governor Eugenio “Bong” Lacson.

Beginning this week, more exemptions were allowed following the number of people testing negative for the disease. Public transport is now allowed under certain rules.

However, last night, the people of Negros were once again alarmed after a man tested positive for COVID-19. He is from La Castellana.

Based on a post on TV Patrol Negros, Negros Occidental Provincial Governor Bong Lacson confirmed the new positive case for COVID-19 in the province.

Citing its source, TV Patrol stated that the patient is a 42-year-old man who came from Pavia, Iloilo. There are positive cases of coronavirus in the said place.

Based on the post, two (2) people the man had a contact with in Iloilo tested positive for COVID-19. It was reportedly in March 13 when he went home from Iloilo and was quarantined until March 28.

Last April 5 and 6, he had a fever and diarrhea but he did not go for a check-up. It was last April 5 when his employers in Iloilo tested positive for the disease and he was informed about it last April 8.

Based on the post, last April 11, he informed the local government of La Castellana and he was quarantined at a local facility. The next day his swab was taken and it was sent last April 13.

Health authorities will be going to La Castellana for the contact tracing. Aside from the man, there are three (3) patients under investigation for COVID-19 in Negros Occidental.
