DSWD Supports DILG Order to Post the List of SAP Beneficiaries
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) supports the DILG orders to every barangay to release the list of beneficiaries of the SAP.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has supported the Department of Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) directive to the barangay Chairmans to release the list of beneficiaries of the Social Amelioration Program.
According to the report of Brigada News, DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista said they wanted the list of barangays to be transparent and the people should also know who received the help and how much they had received.
Bautista stressed that it is only right of citizens to be on the lookout for what the government is doing and to ensure that recipients are eligible. Bautista also said that no such law was violated in such a way as to ensure that the government’s aid goes to those who deserve it.
Bautista also thanked the local chief executives for helping the DSWD staff for better service to the town. The Social Amelioration Program (SAP) is the government’s assistance to the poor residents who are greatly affected the health crisis.
Under the social amelioration program of the DSWD, assistance will be given to low-income households, including senior citizens, persons with a disability, single parents, overseas Filipinos in distress, and pregnant mothers.
