Government to consider coronavirus total lockdown if this continues to happen.
CORONAVIRUS TOTAL LOCKDOWN – Philippine government will be considering total lockdown if people continue to violate ECQ regulations.
The Philippines, being one of the countries which got high numbers of people who got infected with the disease. The Coronavirus Disease 2019 or also called as COVID-19 was first recorded in Wuhan, China. And with the fast increase of corona-related figures in the country, this prompted President Rodrigo Duterte to declare the whole of Luzon under enhanced community quarantine extended until April 30.
The purpose of this is to curb the spread of the infection where people are forced to stay at home, public transportation are suspended, and mass gatherings are strictly prohibited. However, despite the strict implementation of the ECQ rules and regulations, authorities have reported over 100,000 violators of the protocols.
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said that during his last press briefing said that total lockdown might be a fake news but the government is already considering this because of the persistent violations of the people. He said, “Pero hindi po fake news na kinukunsidera ang total lockdown lalong lalo na kung magpapatuloy yung mga pasaway sa ating mga kalsada.”
He also plead to the people to just stay at home now that the ending of the enhance quarantine is fast approaching. Roque added as per Inquirer, “Tumupad na po tayo sa ating obligasyon at kakaunting panahon na lamang po ang natitira sa ating ECQ. Isang linggo. Konting tulog na lang po ito. Pagtiyagaan na po natin.”
Philippines has 5,453 confirmed cases already with 349 fatalities and 353 recoveries.
