Pinoy Artists Honors Coronavirus Frontliners Through Art
PINOY ARTISTS – As tribute to coronavirus frontliners, Pinoy artists decided to sketch their portraits.
The 2019 novel coronavirus undeniably changed our lives. it even affected our global economy. Millions of people have been put out of work due to the deadly virus from China.
The people who can help us in this crisis are the healthcare workers. We can only help by staying in our homes amid the pandemic.
Healthcare workers are risking their lives just to save the lives of their countrymen. Doctors, nurses, soldiers, and cops are considered as frontliners. They continue and fearlessly man the war zone in this pandemic.
In a previous article, a lawmaker proposed that COVID-19 frontliners should be buried at the ‘Libingan Ng Mga Bayani.‘ Rep. Alfredo Garbin of AKO BICOL party-list said all of them deserve a hero’s burial.
On Friday, April 10, Filipino Portrait Artists Guild (FilPAG) secretary Grandier Bella, uploaded the visual arts sketched by Pinoy portrait artists. He said it’s their way of showing appreciation to the frontliners.
They sketched Dr. Ju;y Visperas, Dr. Jonas Del Rosario, Dr. Abi Abonal, and Dr. Thea Hilomen among others. The artists also paid tribute to the fallen doctors, Dr. Sally Gatchalian and Dr. Israel Bactol.
“Filipino Portrait Artists Guild is holding a special livestream sketching session with participating members as a means to thank those out at the frontline for their efforts to keep everything in order, despite the challenging situation everyone is facing due to the pandemic.”
