Several celebrities lambasted Sam Morales
Multimedia artist Sam Morales was lambasted by several celebrities due to the “catfishing” that she did to transwomen/gays.
The term “catfishing” refers to an act of creating a false identity online in order to allure someone into a deceptive relationship. Jzan Vern, a transwoman from Cebu, recently revealed on Twitter that Sam catfished her.
Following this, other victims of the multimedia artist surfaced online. In a previous report, Kapamilya stars Bela Padilla and Alex Gonzaga had an exchange of words on Twitter because of this issue.
Apparently, they are not the only celebrities who shared a piece of their minds regarding this controversy amid the enhanced community quarantine. Based on the article from PEP, celebrities such as Janine Gutierrez and Maris Racal also lambasted Sam Morales. The Kapuso star asked justice not just for the Philippines but also to Jzan.
Actress Lauren Young also condemned the “catfishing” act.
Young actress Mariz Racal used pun for her comment against the multimedia artist.
Kapuso actor Benedict Cua also expressed anger after he read the lengthy post of Jzan regarding what happened.
Celebrities who are members of the LGBTQ community also lambasted Sam Morales. 23-year-old social media influencer Mimiyuuuh called out to members of the fashion industry through his Twitter post to boycott Sam.
Meanwhile, Awra Briguela shared a screenshot of her conversation with Jzan Vern as he showed support to the latter. “LET’S PROTECT OUR TRANS FAMILY!!!” he said.
For celebrity photographer BJ Pascual, “THAT “level” of abuse manipulation towards our trans sisters (OR ANYONE) is unacceptable.”
As of press time, Sam Morales has not given her statement yet regarding this issue.
