CORONAVIRUS SAFETY TIPS – Here are some safety tips we all must follow amid the pandemic coronavirus crisis in order to prevent its spreading.
Health authorities and the government are now closely monitoring the virus that hit many people from various parts of the world. The COVID-19 has affected hundreds of thousand and took thousands of lives already. In Philippines, a third world country, the confirmed cases already exceeded 500.
Amid this stressful time as we battle against an unseen enemy, the American Red Cross shared some safety tips in order to prevent the spread of this highly contagious disease:
- STAY AT HOME AND AVOID SOCIAL GATHERINGS, MOST ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE SICK.
- PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING AND AVOID GOING OUT IN PUBLIC.
- WASH HANDS IN NOT LESS THAN 20 SECONDS WITH SOAP AND WATER FROM TIME TO TIME.
- AVOID PUTTING YOUR UNWASHED HANDS IN YOUR MOUTH, EYES, AND NOSE.
- COVER NOSE WHEN COUGHING AND SNEEZING. IF YOU HAVE NO TISSUE, COUGH OR SNEEZE IN YOUR ELBOW.
- DISINFECT SURFACES YOU USUALLY TOUCH SUCH AS TABLES, DOOR KNOBS, SWITCHES, HANDLES, DESKS, COMPUTERS, PHONES, AND AMONG OTHERS.
- ALWAYS WEAR A FACE MASK.
Accordingly, if you get to expose with this virus or being contracted with this, its flu-like symptoms will appear in 2 to 14 days after the apparent contact. Older people and those with underlying medical conditions like heart disease, diabetes and lung disease are at higher risk.
