DFA Says Filipino Worker in Kuwait Confirmed Positive for Coronavirus
DFA – The Department of Foreign Affairs said that a Pinoy worker in Kuwait tested positive for the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Philippines is now one of the countries affected by the 2019 novel coronavirus, officially called as COVID-19. In the country, there is a total of 230 confirmed cases of the disease now.
According to the Department of Health (DOH), eight (8) patients of coronavirus in the country have already recovered from the disease. Unfortunately, eighteen (18) patients in PH died of the disease.
There are several Filipinos working abroad. In Singapore, thirteen (13) Pinoys tested positive for coronavirus and there is a Filipino in Macau who was also confirmed positive for the disease.
Recently, the Department of Foreign Affairs gave an update. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the DFA reported that a Pinoy worker in Kuwait tested positive for coronavirus.
According to Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Concerns Brigido Dulay, the said OFW is the first patient of coronavirus in the Middle Eastern country.
The authorities have yet to release details about the patient. More updates may be posted soon.
