Pokwang Donates Sacks of Rice To People Affected By COVID-19

POKWANG – ABS-CBN actress Pokwang on Wednesday donated sacks of rice to people affected by the novel coronavirus.

The Philippines continues to face the threat of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19) from China. Kapamilya actresses Bela Padilla and Pokwang decided to help the people who are affected by the “enhanced community quarantine” imposed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

The country is now under state of calamity for 6 months. Bela recently announced that she raised P3.3 million to help the street vendors in Metro Manila.

In the past few days, comedian Pokwang made rounds on social media after she shared a photo of herself preparing snacks for the police officers and soldiers conducting checkpoints in Metro Manila.

Today March 18, Pokwang shared that she will be donating sacks of rice to the people who are affected by the coronavirus crisis. The poor Filipinos whose daily income depends on the informal economy are the most affected.

“Sa mga friends ko WALA muna video call at group chat hahahahhaaa busy ako mag re pack wait lang po para sa mga nasa bahay na alam nating kahit gusto nilang magtabi para sa lockdown e wala naman ipang ta tabing pagkain.kapit Lang ha matatapos din ito,” she wrote.

Pokwang also slammed her bashers who said she’s just impressing the online community. It came with a caption, “READ THIS MGA ANIMAL!!!! NAIIYAK AKO SA GALIT SA INYO!!! SA GANITO PA TALAGANG PANAHON??? HAA??? SA GANITONG PANAHON MGA KAMPON NG BASHERS NA SATANAS???? NGAYON PA TALAGA??? HINDI ITO ANG TAMANG ORAS!!”
