PNR Suspends Work From March 12 To 14 Amid COVID-19 Scare
PNR – The Philippine National Railways (PNR) suspended work from March 12 to 14 in order to clean and disinfect its Executive Building amid the increase of COVID-19 cases.

According to Inquirer, the railway agency said in its advisory that it would stop work from March 12 to 14 (Thursday to Saturday). This is in compliance to the protocols set by the Department of Health (DOH).
Railway spokesperson Jo Geronimo, however, said that its train operations would not be covered by the advisory. She added that train services would continue amid the work stoppage at the office.
As per the report, the health department reported that there are now 49 cases of COVID-19 (Coronavirus disease 2019) in the nation as of March 11.
Among those were two who died, with the latest being PH 35 or Patient No. 35, who is a 67-year-old Filipino female who was confined at the Manila Doctors Hospital.
COVID-19 is a respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus discovered in Wuhan city, Hubei province, China in December 2019.
The International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses also named the novel coronavirus as SARS-CoV-2.
The virus causes respiratory symptoms, which includes fever and cough but it also cause serious illnesses like pneumonia.
Coronavirus is a family of viruses that have surfaces with a crown-like appearance. It is named for its spikes on their surfaces.
