Woman In Bacolod City Dies After Being Hit By Two Vehicles

BACOLOD CITY – A woman, 42 years of age, was dead after getting hit by two vehicles at Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City on Tuesday evening.

According to SunStar, the local police identified the fatality as Lisa Cagalitan, of Sunshine Valley, in Brgy. Estefania.

Traffic investigator of Police Station 4 police Senior Master Sergeant June Garong said that Cagalitan was crossing along Burgos Extension when she was hit by a public utility jeep with the route San Dionisio-Burgos driven by Jodgen Mapamosedo, aged 38, of Barangay Handumanan, who was travelling towards west of Barangay Estefania at around 7:20 PM.

Garong added that the victim fell on the ground and was hit by a wing van truck, which was driven by Bryan Olaseman, aged 28, of Cebu City, who was heading toward Sta. Fe. Resort.

Cagalitan sustained serious wounds and eventually died on the spot.

As per the report, Garong added that both drivers voluntarily gave themselves and face charges for violation of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide.

The two drivers are also willing to aid the family of the victim. Settlements is still ongoing.
