PH Confirms 6th Coronavirus Case & First Local Transmission Of Covid-19
PH LOCAL TRANSMISSION OF COVID-19 – Yesterday, health authorities from the Philippines had confirmed that 4th and 5th cases of COVID-19 in the country.
One of the patients had a travel history in Japan. However, the other did not. A day later, the wife of the 5th confirmed coronavirus patient also tested positive for the virus.
According to a report from Inquirer, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III announced in that a 59-year-old Filipina showed symptoms of the virus and was positive for COVID-19.
The fifth confirmed COVID-19 case in the Philippines was a 62-year-old man who had frequent visits to a Muslim prayer hall in Barangay Greenhills.
As per the report, the Health Secretary also confirmed the first instance of local transmission in the Philippines. This was following the third new confirmed instance of the virus.
Meanwhile, an employee of Deloitte Philippines, a financial advisory firmed was also tested positive for the virus.
However, it is not yet clear if one of the new patients of coronavirus in the Philippines is an employee of Deloitte Philippines.
