ELLEN ADARNA – Cebuana actress Ellen Adarna became emotional after receiving a symbolic gift that she believes confirmed her decision to leave Derek Ramsay.
Ellen Adarna has opened up about an emotional moment in the midst of her separation from husband Derek Ramsay, revealing a symbolic gift that left her in tears. The actress shared with the public the meaningful present she received—one she considers a powerful sign related to her decision to walk away from her marriage.
The gift in question is an artwork titled “Malaya,” created by renowned visual artist Lynyrd Paras. Through her Instagram Stories, Ellen posted a photo of the piece and discussed the significance behind it. According to the former sexy star, the artwork seemed to arrive at the perfect time as she struggled to navigate the early stages of her separation.
“During the beginning of my whole separation, I kept asking the universe for signs just to know if I was doing the right thing,” she wrote, expressing how uncertain and vulnerable she felt during that period.
Ellen shared that Lynyrd reached out to her and said he wanted to send her a gift. She didn’t expect that the artist’s message would lead to something that would resonate so deeply. “Then this arrived,” she said, referring to Paras’ artwork, which depicts a woman alongside the word “Malaya.”
To Ellen, it was the sign she had been seeking. “That was the sign. Malaya. Grabe, we all cried, pati mga yaya ko, lahat kami nangilabot,” she recalled, thanking the 2018 CCP 13 Artists Awardee for the deeply affecting piece.
Since leaving Derek, Ellen has moved into a new home with her children—Elias Modesto, her son with actor John Lloyd Cruz, and Liana, her daughter with Derek. The actress reportedly decided to end their marriage due to alleged infidelity on Derek’s part.
Ellen and Derek tied the knot in November 2021, and their whirlwind romance was once a favorite topic among fans. Now, as she embraces a new chapter, the artwork titled “Malaya” seems to symbolize her journey toward freedom, healing, and clarity.
