The Discayas are undeniably the most popular among the contractors who are investigated amid the flood control mess. After the issue broke out, their past interviews with Julius Babao and Korina Sanchez flaunting their lavish lifestyle circulated on the social media and earned them criticisms.

Amid the flood control mess, their luxury cars were placed under the custody of the Bureau of Customs. Some of the Discaya luxury cars were also put to auction and the money will supposedly be returned to the government coffers.

Curlee and Sarah Discaya initially cooperated in the investigation of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure or ICI, the three-member body formed under the order of Pres. Bongbong Marcos for the flood control investigation. However, following the claim of an ICI member that none has yet to qualify to become state witnesses, they stopped cooperating with the commission.

Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos gave an update about the flood control investigation. He focused on the alleged findings of a P96.5-million ghost flood control project of St. Timothy Construction, a construction company owned by Sarah Discaya, in Davao Occidental.

Bongbong Marcos also revealed that he already ordered the PNP and the DILG to check the whereabouts of Sarah Discaya and other officials of the St. Timothy as part of preparing for the looming arrest. Pres. Bongbong Marcos stressed that malversation charges is non-bailable. Thus, Discaya cannot pay for her temporary liberty if she will be arrested.

“I have directed DILG and the PNP to ensure that they know the whereabouts of Discaya at nung iba pa para paglabas ng arrest warrant ay maaresto na sila kaagad,” Marcos Jr. said.

Previously, Department of Public Works and Highways or DPWH chief Vince Dizon claimed that the Discaya couple will allegedly spend their Christmas in jail.
