A pregnant passenger uses social media the share an airline crew who declares a wrong diagnosis that forces her to get off her flight.
Recently, a netizen on Facebook named Richelle L Elisan-Gerong expresses disappointment to the ground crew of one of the Airlines company who forces her to get off her important flight after declaring a wrong diagnosis found in google.
According to her post, she was heading to Manila for a very important lab test. Richelle was supposed to be on the 6 AM flight from Laguindingan Airport in Misamis Oriental, the southern Philippines to Manila last Friday, February 21, 2020.
Richelle asked if someone would able to assist her in putting her bags at the overhead bin on the plane. After then, the ground crew began asking a lot of questions.
She eventually answered the crew that she was heading to manila for Lymphocytes Antibody Test (LAT) after a series of questions. Her lab only offers the test every Friday; thus, this is her only chance to get the test done before her doctor’s appointment the following day.
After her answer, one of the ground crew started researching about it on Google. The crew later conclude that she was dangerous and needs to present a medical certificate before she can get on the flight.
Richelle explained Lymphocytes is normal and her condition is not infectious because it’s inside her body and not on the outside that can harm other passengers. But the crew refused to listen and insisted that it’s a medical condition.
“I told you I am NOT infectious and I am NOT dangerous to other passengers. Having LYMPHOCYTES is NORMAL. YOU DID NOT LISTEN. I felt discriminated because I have lymphocytes! I felt alienated for having a medical condition which does not have any proper medical diagnosis.”
Richelle already had her doctor on the line but the ground crew said that line was cut. The doctor had to send her medical certificate on Viber, but that was not honored either.
Later on, an airport official understood the situation and explained to the ground crew that Lymphocytes is a normal thing. They asked her to file a blotter at the police station inside the airport for the inconvenience.
Richelle uses social media to express her disappointment towards the false claim and discrimination of the ground crew. Her post immediately gone viral and netizens also express their reactions towards the unlawful actions of the crew.
