DOH Said The 30 Repatriates Were “All Safe and Well”

DOH – The Department of Health (DOH) conducted a “send-off ceremony” for the 30 Filipinos repatriated from Wuhan, China.

Lots of people who worked in mainland China requested to be repatriated amid the outbreak of the novel coronavirus or COVID-19. The Philippine government immediately respond to their request and asked the cooperation of the Chinese government.

The government prepared a facility to quarantine all the overseas Filipino workers from the epicenter of the deadly virus. They have to be monitored for 14 days at the New Clark City in the province of Tarlac.

In a previous article, 2 of the 30 Filipinos showed some symptoms of the coronavirus. Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said the two patients were evaluated have undergone tests.

Based on a report from Eagle News, the Department of Health released the Pinoys repatriated from China today after completing the 14-day quarantine period. They are set to go back to their homes today.

DOH also conducted a “send-off ceremony for the Filipinos repatriated from China as well the 19 crew members at the facility. This “marks their completion of the required 14-day quarantine,” DOH said.

“All the quarantined individuals have not shown signs and symptoms of fever, cough or sore throat during their 14-day stay. They will now be allowed to go back to their respective homes and places,” it added.

DOH secretary also assured the public that the 30 repatriates are “all well and safe from COVID-19” and tested negative for the Wuhan virus.

“We are glad that our repatriates are all well and safe from COVID-19. Our repatriation mission is not possible without the dedication and cooperation of the entire Interagency Task Force for Emerging Infectious Diseases with all its member agencies. We are extremely grateful for the collective effort of the government,” said Duque.

According to the report, the ceremony was a private event to protect the identity of the Filipinos that are repatriated from Wuhan, China.
