In Hubei province, the epicenter of the virus outbreak, an additional 132 more people had died. Along with this, over 1,693 new cases of people infected with the virus were recorded.

This would bring the total number of cases in mainland China over to over 74,000 with most cases being from Hubei. However, a study released by Chinese officials claimed most patients have mild cases of the coronavirus.

Yesterday, the president of a hospital in Wuhan had died due to the coronavirus.

Liu Zhiming, the head of Wuhan Wuchang Hospital which is a high-level hospital in the city, passed away at 10:30 am today. Citing media reports in Wuhan, he is a leading personality with regards to neurosurgery.

Meanwhile, according to a report from ABS-CBN, areas outside of Hubei province have seen its number of cases slowing down. Because of this, Chinese health authorities stated that it was a sign that the outbreak is under control.

In addition, the Chinese state media stated that President Xi Jinping told the British prime minister in a phone call that China’s strives to contain the virus were showing visible results.

But, as per the article, the World Health Organization cautioned that it may be too early to tell if the decline of cases would continue, especially in mainland China.

However, the Chinese government is still under heavy criticism from its residents as hundreds of videos have been surfacing that showed the abuses done to censor information regarding the virus outbreak.
