DOJ Will Issue Statement On Sedition Case VS Robredo, 35 Others Today

DOJ – The Department of Justice (DOJ) has completed its investigation on sedition case against Vice President Leni Robredo and 35 others.

Last year, witness/respondent Peter Joemel Advincula a.k.a. “Bikoy, the uploader of the controversial “Ang Totoong Narcolist” reportedly tagged Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo as among the people who took part in “Project Sodoma,” a plot to overthrow Rodrigo Roa Duterte from the office.

In July 2019, the Philippine National Police’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group filed criminal complaints against Robredo and 37 personalities. These include Senators Leila de Lima and Risa Hontiveros, former Senators Paolo Benigno Aquino IV and Antonio Trillanes.

Some religious leaders were also included in the list of respondents. They are Cubao Bishop Honesto Ongtioco, Caloocan Bishop Pablo Virgilio David, retired Novaliches Bishop Teodoro Bacani Jr. and former CBCP president Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas, running priest Ruben Reyes and Fr. Albert Alejo.Fr. Flaviano Villanueva.

Also named respondents were former education secretary Armin Luistro, ‘Otso Diretso’ senatorial candidates: Gary Alejano, Chel Diokno, Erin Tanada, Romulo Macalintal, Florin Hilbay, and Samira Gutoc, Integrated Bar of the Philippines officials: Theodore Te, Domingo Egon Cayosa, Abdiel Dan Elijah Fajardo. Also in the list is ex-senior superintendent Eduardo Acierto.

The Alyas Bikoy said the respondents met at the Jesuit Communication Building of the Ateneo de Manila University from February to May last year.

Based on a report from Philstar, The Department of Justice National Prosecution Service (DOJ-NPS) has completed the investigation of the sedition case that was filed against VP Leni Robredo and 35 others. Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said the resolution was released on Friday, February 7.

“I have been informed that the resolution on the sedition case was quietly released last Friday,” he said.

According to the report, the Department of Justice will issue the statement on the resolution today, February 10, 2020.
